Ernst & Young LLP Names Kelly Grier Office Managing Partner in Chicago
Chicago, 13 July 2009 – Ernst & Young LLP announced today that Kelly Grier has been appointed Managing Partner of the firm’s Chicago office. Grier, who is an 18-year veteran with Ernst & Young LLP, will be responsible for all of Chicago’s resources, including oversight of the firm’s assurance, advisory, tax and transaction services. With approximately 1,700 people, Chicago is the second largest Ernst & Young LLP office in the United States.

Grier (39) has extensive experience serving Fortune 500 companies and supporting public equity and debt offerings, acquisitions, divestitures and assessment of International Financial Reporting Standards. She also brings a global perspective to her work having lived in Zurich, Switzerland, for four years as the Ernst & Young LLP audit partner coordinating the US GAAP audits in Europe for a Fortune 10 client. Most recently, Grier oversaw the execution of the firm’s service quality excellence for several of the largest global companies based in the Midwest.
Grier is an appointed member of Ernst & Young’s Global and Americas Advisory Councils as well as the National Gender Equity Task force. She also served as the Midwest Gender Equity Co-Leader.
A Certified Public Accountant in Illinois and Wisconsin, Grier received her bachelor’s degree in Accounting from St. Mary’s College. She is a member of The Chicago Network and serves on the board of directors of the Ravinia Festival and the Chicago Finance Exchange.
