The presentations and discussion will explore the topics of "operational risk and resilience" in the context of FINMA Circular 23/01. We have selected the following topics on the basis of our current project experience and will present real-world examples to provide further insight into some of the key points discussed at the last roundtable held in September 2023:
Risk appetite/tolerance
We will show specific examples to illustrate the possible design of risk appetite statements. We will also discuss the monitoring of inherent and residual risks using control and risk indicators.
Independent control testing
We will use a real-life example to showcase an effective multi-year testing plan and demonstrate the challenges that can arise during implementation.
Operational resilience
We will discuss the elements of the operational resilience cycle that the circular requires to be addressed by the end of the year. We will focus on the identification of critical processes, resource allocation to existing measures as well as disruption scenarios and initial tests. We also draw a comparison with the requirements of the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) and its relevance for Swiss financial institutions.
At the end of the event, we will offer you the opportunity to discuss individual aspects or specific questions in greater depth over informal drinks and canapés.
We look forward to your participation and an enlightening discussion.
